Terry has been hosting CBC Radio One 89.3 FM / 990 AM's morning show in Winnipeg since 1993. Terry eagerly bounces out of bed each day at 3:30 a.m. because that allows him to talk with Manitoba's most remarkable people.
Prior to moving to Winnipeg Terry was a producer and guest-host at CBC Radio's hit network show "Morningside" with Peter Gzowski. He started with CBC Radio in Thunder Bay Ontario in 1985. Terry grew up and received his BA in Psychology in Prince Edward Island and has lived and worked in much of the country including stints in Thunder Bay, Waterloo, Lake Louise, Vancouver, Arctic Quebec, the Eastern Townships and in Boulder, Colorado.
He has studied mime, painted tugboats, done social work, parked cars, been the village gardener of North Hatley, Que., made video art and acted in a comedia del arte theatre company.
Terry taught for the WaWaTa Oji-Cree radio network in Northwestern Ontario and the TNI Inuit network in Arctic Quebec. He has also guest-hosted CBC Toronto's morning show "Metro Morning", "Morningside in the Summer," "Sounds Like Canada" and "As It Happens." He has also been a contributor to "The Latest Morningside Papers" and for five years was the mainstage host of the National Milton Acorn Poetry Festival. Terry is the winner of four Thunder Bay Press Club Awards.
Terry is an active community volunteer with many delightful organizations.
In 2004 Information Radio from CBC Winnipeg won the CBC National Radio Award as the best regional program in the country - beating out every other CBC morning, noon and afternoon show in Canada.
Terry is married to the spectacular Ellen and delights in his two remarkable children.
