Mitch Peacock joined CBC News Winnipeg after spending five years as an anchor on the Fox Soccer Report. A veteran of both radio and television, Mitch has focused primarily on television coverage of the top soccer leagues in the world in recent years, including contributing to CBC's coverage of the U-20 World Cup in 2007 and two seasons of Major League Soccer.

Mitch has also served as a sports generalist as Sports Director for radio stations in Fort McMurray and Prince Albert, hosting an all-sports radio show in Calgary, and also handled Sports Anchor/Reporter duties at Global TV in both Regina and Winnipeg.

Those assignments in Calgary, Regina, and Winnipeg helped Mitch get acquainted with the CFL. Comfortable in the studio and at the stadium or arena, Mitch thrives on being "in the game". His appreciation for athletes and his respect for the challenges they face to be their best, serves as a motivator to get to the bottom of stories and share them with everyone, from die-hards to casual fans.
